Blondie Brownie Bakes produce and supply a range of baked treats to pubs, cafes, leisure facilities and dessert shops across the Midlands as well as creating personalised celebration brownie and blondie cakes and attending several artisan markets and food fairs.
They make everything by hand using the best ingredients such as Belgian chocolate, free range eggs and English butter without the use of additives or preservatives and also offer vegan, dairy and gluten free options.
Former civil servant Debs Stanton explained: “We bought the business from the previous owner who had been working from home and spent our first few months renting a small commercial kitchen which we soon outgrew.
“We saw the facilities at The Tangent and the OMEETO team helped us to quickly finalise the lease so that we could install commercial catering equipment and get up and running.
“It is a great space with the bonus of facilities like a manned reception, security and car parking as well as internet connection which is vital as we do a lot of wholesale and retail business online.
“Since moving to The Tangent, our efficiency and output has increased and we now have the ability to take on more local wholesale orders. We hope to take on some production staff in the near future with our sights set on opening our first shop.”
The lease to Blondie Brownie Bakes in the latest to be secured by OMEETO who handles commercial property marketing for a diverse range of office, workshop and industrial units at The Tangent and Pleasley Vale Business Park on behalf of Bolsover District Council.
OMEETO director Chris Wright said: “We are delighted to welcome Blondie Brownie Bakes to The Tangent and their arrival shows just what a diverse and flexible offer is available at this business hub.
“The Tangent business Hub has proved particularly popular with SMEs since it opened nearly ten years ago. The high-specification work spaces with superfast broadband and professional support services make it the ideal environment for businesses to grow and develop.
“Pleasley Vale Business Park is also an attractive site which is close to the M1 and there is a range of flexible office space currently available with excellent car parking and security.”
Mr Wright continued: “The particular benefit to businesses leasing offices at these centres is that they are geared to support SME’s with fantastic facilities at very attractive and competitive rates. Many offices are available on standard, easy in, easy out agreements.
“Not only does this very much reflect our company ethos of simplifying the letting process for both parties, it also drastically reduces transaction timescales and therefore ensures that tenants can move in quickly to be able to concentrate on the next stage of their business growth.”
